The Matanuska-Susitna Borough owns two ice rinks, the Brett Memorial Ice Arena and the Big Lake Lions Recreation Center.

Big Lake Lions Recreation Center

The Big Lake Recreation Center has been a Big Lake staple for fifteen years. It was purchased by the Borough in 2025, and reopened on Sept. 12, 2025.

Brett Memorial Ice Arena

The Brett is year-round ice arena located in Wasilla next to Wasilla Middle School, open seven days a week. Public Skate is Sundays 2:00-3:30pm, Tuesdays 12:30-2:00pm & Thursdays 12:30-2:00pm. Sunday 4/12/26 Public Skate is 1:00-2:30pm.
