The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Government is composed of a Mayor and the Assembly which serves as the Borough's legislative body. It sets policy, adopts the annual budget, enacts ordinances, and appoints the Borough Manager, Borough Clerk, and Borough Attorney.

Road Closure - Homebuilt Cir at Neklasen (Niklason) Lake Crossing
Homebuilt Cir at Neklasen (Niklason) Lake crossing will be under construction due to fish passage improvements starting Thursday July 9, 2026 through Friday August 7, 2026. Reduced access will still be available.

Settler’s Bay Drive will be closed for construction activities starting Tuesday July 14, 2026 through August 4, 2026. Detour for KGB access will use Bogle Bluff. Emergency vehicles will be provided with access at all times.
