The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Government is composed of a Mayor and the Assembly which serves as the Borough's legislative body. It sets policy, adopts the annual budget, enacts ordinances, and appoints the Borough Manager, Borough Clerk, and Borough Attorney.

Road Closure - Point Mackenzie
Upgrades to Point Mackenzie road will begin on Tuesday April 15, 2025. Watch for flaggers and expect delays when traveling between mile marker 0 and mile 3. Construction activities can be exected 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. throughout the summer.
