Jim Creek Campground, located in the scenic Butte area of the Matanuska Valley, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. With 26 campsites available, the area is a favorite among locals for camping and exploring on ATVs and dirt bikes, offering an excellent mix of recreation and natural beauty. Whether you're fishing, riding trails, or enjoying a night around the campfire, Jim Creek Campground is an ideal spot for outdoor adventures.

Campground Rules

  • Please camp in numbered campsites only. There are 26 campsites, and no camping is allowed in the parking lot.

  • Fees must be paid prior to setting up your campsite. Camping is $30.00 per night per site. Check in is 3 pm  - Check out is 11 am

  • One adult, 18 years of age or older, from the camping party must register for the campsite and occupy it for the first 24 hours.

  • Quiet hours are from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, but noise levels should be controlled at all times to avoid disturbing other campers.

  • Visitors must leave the campground by 11:00 PM each night.

  • The maximum number of consecutive nights allowed is 14. Campers must vacate the campground for at least 72 hours between stays, with a total annual limit of 45 nights.

  • No more than one campsite may be occupied by a single family or group of up to four unrelated individuals.

  • Campers are allowed a maximum of two full-sized motor vehicles and one trailer per site.

  • Fires are allowed in designated fire rings only and must not exceed three feet in height. Burning of pallets and fires during red flag warnings are prohibited.

  • Cutting live trees is not permitted.

  • The speed limit within the campground is 5 MPH for all vehicles, including ATVs and motorcycles. Vehicles must stay on designated roadways and within campsites. Cross-country travel is prohibited.

  • All trash must be placed in the provided receptacles or hauled away. Burning of trash or metal is not allowed.

  • Pets must be under immediate control and kept on a leash not exceeding six feet. Owners must clean up after their pets.

  • Failure to adhere to these rules may result in expulsion and permanent eviction from the Jim Creek Campground and Parking area.
