17.80 - Nonconforming Application for Tax ID#2735000L002
The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Planning Director will consider the following:
James Calovich, Owner, applied for a Determination of Legal Nonconforming Status (MSB 17.80) according to MSB 17.80.070 for a commercial structure located at 8431 W Parks Hwy, Tax ID # 52735000L002. At its closest point, one structure is set back less than 5 feet from highway easement, and another structure is approximately 10 feet from the highway easement. Structures are required to be set back a minimum of 25 feet from a public use easement. Granting a determination of Legal Nonconforming Status (amnesty) will permit the structure to remain in its current location.

Comments are due on or before July 20, 2026, and will be included in the Staff Report to the Planning and Land Use Director. Please be advised that comments received from the public after that date will not be included in the staff report. The earliest decision date for this request is August 3, 2026.
