Fish Creek Conservation Easement Non-Motorized Winter Trails Open

Snow depth and trail condition were reported January 7, 2026. Based on the information supplied, it was determined that the snow base and subfreezing temperatures that the ground should remain frozen and covered with sufficient snow and ice to protect the underlying resources. The Fish Creek Conservation Area (FCCA) trails located south of Gonder Road near Big Lake can be opened to dogsledding and grooming activities at this time.

In addition, the gate near the Kiosk on Gonder Road is open for plowing and access to the ADMC Club house.

Please be aware that due to rapidly changing weather and snow conditions that the FCCA trails may be closed at any time to protect the underlying vegetation. Any changes affecting future trail conditions will be updated through Matanuska Susitna Borough Public Notice webpage, e-mails, and will be posted at the Gonder Road Kiosk.
