MSB008311 Goose Creek Salvage Timber

The Matanuska-Susitna Borough Land & Resource Management Division is proposing a timber salvage sale of the over-mature birch and the dead and damaged spruce on approximately 200 acres located on Borough-owned parcel Tax ID 6822000T00A.

The timber would be offered in a competitive auction. The parcel encompasses 911 acres, but only 200 acres are included in the proposed salvage area. This timber sale is to reduce hazardous fuel loading and to support healthy forest regeneration. There are approximately 1,600 cords available.

 Supporting material is available for public inspection by appointment only during normal business hours on the 2nd floor of the Borough Building in the Land & Resource Management office or visit the Public Notice Section on the Borough’s web page, www.matsu.gov. Public comments are invited on this request. If you have any comments, please mail or deliver them to the Borough offices at the address indicated above, no later than**        July 22, 2026**.
