MSB Employee Benefit: Capstone

If you are covered under the Borough health plan* you can visit any Capstone Clinic for primary care, preventive care, and urgent care services at no cost, no deductible and no co-pay. If you have a spouse or child enrolled in the Borough health plan they qualify for this benefit too.

When you check in at a Capstone Clinic, let them know you are a Matanuska-Susitna Borough employee.

Capstone Coverage Flyer

*Capstone cannot bill under this contract if you have Medicaid, Medicare, TRICARE, or TriWest as a secondary plan because those plans have specific billing rules.

If you or one of your covered family members has one of these plans, you can still receive care at Capstone. However, Capstone will bill your Allied health plan, and any remaining claims will be processed according to the rules of your other insurance coverage.

Capstone FAQ

• What is the list of services that would be considered Primary Care at Capstone?

  • Primary care includes well visits and physical exams, treatment of acute illness and injuries and managing chronic conditions. Primary care does not include visits with a specialist.

• Can an employee keep their primary care provider or do they have to switch to a provider at Capstone?

  • There is no requirement to switch to Capstone. Employees can continue using their current primary care provider.

• If an employee has an annual exam done through Alpenglow Women's Health clinic at Capstone, is this covered under the current capstone benefit?

  • No. Women's Health is a specialty services within Capstone so that that would be considered a specialty service not primary care. However, the service would be covered through the health plan and would be subject to co-pay and deductible.

• Can an employee use the capstone in Eagle River?

  • Yes!
