MSB Employee Benefit: Supplemental Annuity Plan (replaces traditional Social Security)

Borough employees are automatically enrolled in the State of Alaska Supplemental Benefit System Annuity Plan (referred to as SBS). This is a defined contribution plan governed by the IRS. A portion of your wages and a matching employer contribution are made pre-tax to this Plan instead of contributions to Social Security.
