Personal Use Firewood Permit

Permits expire at the end of each calendar year or once all firewood has been removed from within the area, whichever comes first. (NO REFUNDS)

When completing the application, be prepared to provide the year, make, model and license number (if applicable) of all motorized vehicle(s), trailers, and machinery to be utilized in personal use firewood area.

The permit must be in your possession during the removal of firewood from the site and the vehicles used to remove firewood must be listed on the permit.

  • A $25 permit is required for each Personal Use Area (PUA) where live trees can be cut. Free permits are generally available where only dead down or dead standing trees can be cut.

  • In addition to the cost of the permit, the cost for each cord of firewood is $25.00 for live birch, or free for dead down / dead standing.

  • There may only be one permit per location per household per year.

  • A maximum purchase of cords per household, per calendar year will be specified in the permit.

  • Personal Use only, no selling bartering or trading.
