Official Streets & Highways Plan 2022 (OSHP)

Plan Overview

The Official Streets and Highways Plan (OSHP) is a future-looking map for roads in the Borough. It identifies road corridors and road upgrades necessary to safely and efficiently accommodate our growing population and its transportation needs. New construction or upgrades of existing roads may occur within the next 5-10 years, and others won’t be built or upgraded for another 20 years. When and where roads are built will depend on population growth, need, and funding.

Plan Goals

The main goal of the OSHP is to have a logical plan in place that maps our road network and supports development by conserving essential road corridors for future construction.

The OSHP is a planning tool used to:

  • Promote safe & efficient travel
  • Preserve right of way for future roads
  • Increase road connectivity
  • Reduce traffic congestion
  • Lower road project costs
  • Improve quality of life

Plan Updates

Periodically, the OSHP must be updated to reflect the needs of the growth within the Borough. Any proposed changes to the Plan will include a public engagement process whereby members of the public will be able to view proposed updates and provide comment.
