Fire and Life Safety Division

Our mission is to prevent the loss of life and property from fire and explosion.

We conduct all fire and life safety plan reviews and inspections, as well as, fire prevention and education activities for the Central Mat-Su Fire Service Area (FSA).

Every commercial structure in the fire service area where people work, play or spend time is subject to plan review, building permits, and annual inspection. Residential housing that is a triplex or smaller is exempt from these requirements by the fire department.

If the building's FSA is 130 Central Mat-Su, click on the first logo below. If the building FSA is City of Palmer, click on the second logo below. All other areas in the borough fall under the State Fire Marshal's office, click on the third logo. You may also contact the Fire Code Office at either link on the right.
